Today on the blog we’re highlighting our cathedral windows and four ways to style them!
It’s safe to say that our cathedral windows are one of our most signature and show-stopping pieces. We absolutely love our cathedrals and we are excited to dedicate an entire post to them!
First, let’s start with by talking about one of the most popular ways our brides have styled the cathedral windows: bohemian!
Key elements of bohemian styling:
-Pampas Grass
-Natural elements such as wicker and rattan items
-Macramé
Boho brides can add a little bohemian flair by incorporating pampas grass in their floral arrangements. Those wanting to go all out can exclusively use pampas as their floral element. Macramé pieces are also perfect to hang from the top of our cathedral windows.
Using greenery installations on the cathedral windows is another great way to showcase nature in your boho ceremony design!
Our second styling focus will be light and airy. And for this we’re going to bring in our white cathedral windows!
Key elements of light & airy styling:
-White and light toned colors
-Beautiful light toned florals
-Airy materials such as silk chiffon
Our white cathedral windows are perfect for styling a light and airy ceremony. Brides wanting their ceremony to feel light and ethereal will love the white version. For this style all you need is to add a your light and gorgeous floral installations to give it that finishing touch. Gauzy materials can be draped from behind the cathedral windows to add another airy element.

We love our cathedral windows in any setting. Whether in front of a gorgeous, historic red brick building, or set outside in the middle of a green pasture they are a beautiful backdrop!
Perfect colors to incorporate in light and airy decor are blush, light peach, light pink, soft yellow, and of course white!
Back to stained cathedral windows… Our third style will be rustic!
Key elements of rustic styling:
-Wood, and lots of it!
-Outdoorsy, country, or farmhouse decor elements
-Earth tones, although not always!
Our stained cathedral windows are the perfect backdrop for a rustic ceremony. To add to the rustic feel brides can add items such as cowhides, floral installations heavy with greenery, and candlelit lanterns.
Brides can use vintage bottles, or mason jars for floral arrangements. Or hang mason jars with tealights around the cathedrals for a fun and romantic addition to your rustic vibe!
Our final focus is styling our cathedral windows in a pared down, romantic style.
Key elements of romantic styling:
-Location, location, location
-All the florals!
-Romantic lighting
-Lighting
For a romantic wedding it’s always great to start with a romantic location! When you have a romantic view all you need is to add a few personalizing details. And there you go, a romantic ceremony tailored to you!
When it comes to romantic weddings florals are another key element. While usually with romantic florals more is better, we’re going for a more simple vibe. So florals in your wedding colors, strategically placed by or on the cathedral windows, make plenty impact!
Finally, a great way to add the romance is with romantic lighting. Whether you hang twinkle lights from the cathedral windows, surround it with candlelit lanterns, or choose to have a sunset ceremony; lighting can go a long way to create a romantic ambiance for your ceremony!
So there you go! Four different ways to make our cathedral windows your own. As always we hope you enjoyed the inspiration!
-Happy planning!
