We’re back with another wedding theme spotlight! And this time the focus is on classic weddings. When talking about weddings, classic is synonymous with timeless. A classic wedding will forgo current trends, and they tend to be elegant and romantic affairs.
Usually any venue can work for a classic wedding. Places that are already elegant can certainly make the decorating easier! When picking a venue you want to avoid anything too rustic.
The Magnolia Room in Oklahoma City has a little bit of a rustic, industrial vibe. But it has plenty of elegant elements to make it great for a classic wedding!
Outdoor venues are also a great option for a classic wedding! This wedding at Shane Creek is the perfect example of an elegant outdoor setting. The couple was married with the property’s beautiful pond in the background, surrounded by lush green grass and large trees.
Any bright and airy venue is great for a classic wedding! The Festivities Event Center is a perfect example of bright and airy. This old post office also has beautiful architecture and historical charm.
When planning a tablescape for a classic wedding it’s best to keep things mostly neutral. That’s not to say you can’t add in an accent of your favorite color though! The above table is mostly neutral with grays and whites, but adds in pink details on the china, the light pink table runner, and in the florals.
This second table keeps everything bright and white. Both looks are perfectly classic and timeless.
When choosing decor for your classic wedding it’s best to keep things elegant and understated. Choose items that never go out of style, and try not to mix-match too much. A little mix-matching is okay for a classic wedding, but too much will lend more of an eclectic vibe.
To keep things classic for this mood board, we chose dark wood accents, and stuck with mauve and green for the color scheme. We used warm-toned metals for the candlesticks and flatware. The luxe floral installations are a perfect addition!
The cake table below is another perfect example of classic style. You can’t go wrong with white pieces and a classic white wedding cake. The crystal candlesticks and sheer pink draping add a sophistication to an otherwise simple set-up.
